SQL Server : Saving changes is not permitted

Today i am trying my new SQL server that have been deployed from our infrastructure IT team.

I tried to create single database and then create one table inside. When the table have been successfully created, i am tried again to modify that table and found this error come up like screenshot as below :

This dialog states: “Saving changes is not permitted. The changes you have made require the following tables to be dropped and re-created. You have either made changes to a table that can’t be re-created or enabled the option Prevent saving changes that require the table to be re-created.”

Solution :

Please don’t worry on that, this is not mean that your system having problem but this issue causes the designer tool is preventing to we can’t do recreation table.

So what we can do it is go to Tools -> Options and the choose on the treeview menu “Designers –> “Table and Database Designers”

Unchecked the option “Prevent saving changes that require table re-creation and to confirm the modification click button OK.

Once been updated, now you can try again to do modification on your table.

Happy Coding All.
